700 challaned for violating Covid-19 norms on Holi

Taking strict action against those violating Covid-19 norms, the Delhi Police issued challans to over 700 people who were found not wearing a face mask at public across the national capital on Holi. Officials said that authorities have been asked by the Lieutenant Governor to intensify drive against violations of Covid norms.

According to a data shared by the police till 4 pm on Holi, 730 challans were issued to people for not wearing a face mask while nine people were fined for not adhering to social distancing norms.Three people were issued challan for spitting in public places.

A total of 5,73,457 challans have been issued in the national capital since June 15, police said.

Meanwhile, 94 face masks were distributed by the police in the city on Holi, officials said, adding that 4,27,258 masks have been distributed by the force since June 15.
