Five minor boys were rescued from South Bihar Express on Tuesday at Rourkela railway station by Government Railway Police while they were being taken by a broker to Raipur. All rescued boys are from Bihar. Police also detained broker and were further investigating into matter. Sources said, the GRP Rourkela received an input from their intelligence source that some minor boys are being trafficked in South Bihar Express train, following which a police team conducted raid at Rourkela station.
The GRP, Rourkela rescued five minor boys. The youth taken into custody was identified as Md Sabir Raja. The youth reportedly claimed that he was taking boys to Raipur with consent of their family members. "Five minor boys from South Bihar Express were rescued by us and we sent them to Childline office and informed development to Child Welfare Committee of district," said GRP Rourkela IIC Ranjan Pattnaik. "We are further probing matter," Pattnaik added.
