Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the second wave of corona has been controlled in the State, but the possibilities of a third wave still exist. A large number of corona cases are still being reported in the States of Kerala and Maharashtra. Therefore, full vigilance and precautions must be taken while preparations continue in full swing for the third wave. There should be no negligence in this work.
Chouhan said that the pace of corona vaccination programme should be sped up in the state. The State is getting sufficient number of vaccines from the Center and it will continue. The State ranks fourth in the country in corona vaccination.
Chouhan was reviewing the situation of corona in the state, preparations for the third wave and vaccination work through video conferencing at Mantralaya today. Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Prabhuram Chaudhary, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretary Health Mohammad Suleman, Health Commissioner Akash Tripathi etc. were present in the meeting.
It was told during the review of corona, that there are 121 active cases of corona in the State. Also, 10 new cases have been reported. About 70,000 tests are being conducted daily in the State. The positivity rate is 0.01 percent. The state ranks 30th in the country in corona infection.
The Chief Minister directed all the collectors to ensure timely preparations for the third wave in their respective districts, which includes increasing number of beds in hospitals, establishment of oxygen plants, ICU wards, CT Scan and other testing arrangements, arrangement of essential medicines, specialist doctors, paramedical staff, technicians etc.
Chouhan said that 47 percent eligible persons of the state have been administered the first dose of Corona vaccine, while 9 percent have received the second dose. Special attention is must for the second dose.
Chouhan directed that separate arrangements should be made at the vaccination centers for the second dose of corona vaccine. Special arrangement for vaccination of pregnant women should continue.
It was found during the review that vaccination work in Panna, Sidhi and Alirajpur districts is comparatively slower. Instructions have been given to give pace to vaccination work in these districts. People should be made aware about vaccination.
