Two more Covid-19 deaths in the State on Friday took the death toll in Jharkhand to 5,128, which is gradually limping back to normalcy and giving relaxations in the semi-lockdown. One Covid-19 patient died in Bokaro and another died in East Singhbhum district on Friday, revealed Government data.
Although there was a drop in cases on Friday, as per a bulletin released by the National Health Mission (NHM), at least 29 people, including seven from Bokaro , tested positive for Covid-19 on the day, while only 32 patients recovered from the viral infection. The active caseload in the state reached 260 on Friday.
At least 11 districts saw no new cases on the day. The districts include Deoghar, Giridih, Godda, Hazaribag, Jamtara, Khunti, Lohardaga, Palamu, Pakur, Saraikela and SIdega.
As per NHM data, at least six cases against three recoveries took the active caseload in Ranchi to 49, while seven cases against five recoveries took the active caseload in Bokaro to 28. Garhwa reported zero recoveries on the day and the number of patients there jumped to 23. Jharkhand tested samples of 51,265 residents on the day and 0.06 per cent of them were found infected. The state reported an average positivity rate of 0.06 or less in the past one week.
The state on Friday vaccinated over 94,006 residents against Covid-19, taking the total count of those inoculated in the state closer to the 1 crore mark, provisional figures released by the health department highlighted.
As per data compiled by the health department, the state on Friday administered the first dose of vaccine to 67,783 residents, while the second jab was administered to 26,223 beneficiaries. Over 55,000 residents in the age bracket of 18 years to 44 years got their first dose of vaccine and close to 10,517 beneficiaries from this age group received their second jab, an NHM report stated.
