A day ahead of crucial bypoll to Ellenabad assembly constituency in Sirsa district, two prominent members of Chautala clan shared dais with leaders of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party to attack the Indian National Lok Dal’s nominee Abhay Chautala over his decision to contest again from the assembly seat.
BJP’s alliance partner -Jannayak Janata Party’s national president Ajay Chautala and Cabinet Minister Ranjit Singh, both members of Chautala family addressed a joint press conference in Sirsa on Friday. BJP’s former state chief and Ellenabad election in-charge Subhash Barala, JJP state chief Nishan Singh were also present.
Ajay is elder brother of Abhay Chautala while Ranjit Singh is brother of INLD’s chief OP Chautala.
The Ellenabad bypoll, which is scheduled to be held on Saturday is witnessing a triangular fight with BJP-JJP joint candidate Govind Kanda, Congress candidate Pawan Beniwal and INLD’s nominee Abhay Singh Chautala in the fray. The result will be declared on November 2.
Slamming his younger brother Abhay, JJP chief Ajay Chautala said that the result of bypoll will break the arrogance of those who resigned and claimed that they will not go to Vidhan Sabha till the three central farm laws are repealed.
Cabinet Minister Ranjit Singh said that the current government has always worked for the welfare of the farmers and the outcome will be in the favour of the BJP-JJP candidate only. The voters know the reality of how this government has always worked for development and welfare of people, he said.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar during his election meetings had emphasized on the fact that a big part of the Chautala family is with the BJP now. Khattar had said that Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, JJP chief Ajay Singh Chautala and Power Minister and independent MLA Ranjit Singh Chautala are part of the BJP-led coalition government.
