The JSW steel plant and other associated projects in Jagatsinghpur district would start functioning in time, said project head Subrata Sahu.
Acquisition of 2,950 acres of land has been completed for the proposed Jindal project in Dhinkia, Gobindpur and Nuagaon areas of Ersama block. And Jindal is going to set up its own power plant for the project here, as well as a high-quality cement plant.
The iron ore fines will come mainly from Barbil of Keonjhar district, mainly through pipelines, which will gradually produce iron pellets and turn them into large iron factories with the modernisation of the plant, he said.
The fresh water required for the JSW project will be pumped from the Jobra Anicut of the Mahanadi with 999 cusecs of water daily, said Sahu.
Similarly, in the proposed project, applications have been received for the recruitment of 1,000 young men and women from the proposed area before the establishment of the project to give employment to local youth on a priority basis. Before the start of the Jindal Paradip project, they will be employed at another Jindal factory.
