‘Your rights, your Govt, at your door’ programme receives huge response

Your rights, your government, at your door’ programme of the Hemant Soren government has received a huge response of people as over 3.87 lakh people submitted petitions to avail benefits of the different welfare schemes of the government.

The programme was launched 42 days back and it concluded on Wednesday when the Hemant Soren government completed two years in the office. ‘Your rights your government’ was launched to make people aware of the different schemes of the government for which special camps were organized at the panchayat level. So far out of 3.87 lakh applications, the government 3.73 lakh applications have been processed.

The maximum number of applications was received from Ranchi district which is related to the ration card. Around 1.20 lakh applications were related to ration cards out of which 1.18 lakh applications were processed and the rest is under process. At the same time, a total of 1.09 lakh sari and dhoti were distributed among beneficiaries under the ambitious Sona Sobran Dhoti Sari Yojana. Ranchi also topped the list in terms of distribution of 30,741 blankets among people. After Ranchi, two other districts Dhanbad and Palamu received the maximum number of applications whereas the least number of applications were received in Koderma district.

This extensive programme gave a big boost to the universal pension scheme as 55,496 genuine persons were included in the pension scheme. 18012 persons had applied for the old aged person whereas 4621 wanted to avail the facility of the widow pension scheme and 1113 were divyang who wanted disability pension. There was at least one case of compensation given to a family of Covid 19 victims who died due to the pandemic. ‘Your rights your government’ covers over 50 common services related to food security, pension, drinking water, livelihood, certificates under the right to service act, forest rights, health and nutrition, agriculture, labour, scholarship, land reforms, urban local bodies.
