Governor Mangubhai Patel has given instructions to set up Covid cells in all the universities. He has also instructed all the Vice Chancellors to reside within the university campus. He has said that the works related to implementation of National Education Policy 2020 should be completed within the time-limit. Continuous monitoring should also be arranged for effective implementation.
The Governor held a discussion with the Vice Chancellors of B.R. Ambedkar University of Social Sciences Mhow, Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University Bhopal, Pt. S.N. Shukla University Shahdol and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya Bhopal and sought information regarding the activities of the universities.
Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that experts have warned of the possibility of a third wave of Covid. We pray to God that the third wave does not come. But precautions must be taken. The situation should be continuously monitored by the Covid cell and necessary preparations should be made. By doing this, there will be no problems in the implementation of arrangements to face the third wave. He said that the university should make full use of the digital platform. Guidance from technical experts and expert services can also be obtained when required.
He said that the Vice Chancellors should stay in the residence located on the University campus, which will facilitate regular monitoring of the campus arrangements. He said that the Vice Chancellor is the center of inspiration of the university and the society, his work style should be ideal and transparent.
Patel said that children are the future citizens of the country. They should not be dependent only on bookish knowledge. They should be made aware of social responsibilities also. The teachers of the university should infuse the values ??of social concerns in the students through their experiences and their behaviour. He said that an educated person first educates his family, then the society similarly, the state and the country in the long run. Therefore, students should also be motivated to contribute in the efforts of social upliftment through education.
He directed the Vice Chancellors to study the interest of the students in whichever courses, subjects, diploma and certificate courses are being run by the university. This information should be circulated on a regular basis. This will enable courses to be conducted as per the needs of the students. He said that information regarding the commercial utility, study, future in the field of research and practical importance etc. of the new courses started by the university should be publicized widely so that the student can easily choose the subject as per his needs.
The Vice Chancellors of the universities gave a presentation regarding the administrative structure of the university and its academic activities in the meeting. Principal Secretary Higher Education Anupam Rajan, Principal Secretary to Governor D.P Ahuja along with senior officials of Raj Bhavan were present in the meeting.
