‘Physiotherapy no longer be paramedical’

Physiotherapists will no longer be considered in Paramedical," says senior Physiotherapist of AYUSH Department Dr Anant Gaur.

After an announcement by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan about forming a Physiotherapy Council in Madhya Pradesh, there is a contentment among the physiotherapists of the State.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that setting up a separate council for physiotherapy in the state will be considered. The utility of other medical practices along with allopathy was experienced in the Corona period. Therefore, better use of these practices will be ensured for prevention of diseases.

While talking about it with The Pioneer, Dr. Ananat Gaur said, "A separate council of physiotherapy is located in Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, but here, till now it is a department under paramedical.

It is a contentment for the physiotherapists that it will no longer be a part of paramedical."

Dr. Gaur mentioned that after the council is formed, it will be a benefit for the students studying physiotherapy and the patients will also be directly benefitted. He said, "It is obvious that the council will keep a check on doctors running clinic without any experience or registration. It will definitely be a boon for therapists and patients."

Adding to it, he said, "Undoubtedly it will enhance the education of students pursuing physiotherapy."

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Arogya Bharti is providing significant services in the health awareness sector. The organization’s suggestion for the formation of a Physiotherapy Council is important.

Development of physiotherapy is must in public interest. This system will be promoted in Madhya Pradesh. A decision will be taken soon in this direction.

He said, "The selfless efforts from Dr Sumit Rana Vice President BCKS and Dr Abhijeet Deshmukh From From Arogyam Bharti and of other Physios of Madhya Pradesh turned out as fruitful result with independent Council for Physiotherapy.
