Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the State Government has decided to float a global tender to get vaccines to ensure smooth operation of Covid vaccination.
“The Uttar Pradesh government has already ordered 50 lakh doses each from Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech. In addition to it, a global tender for 4 crore doses will be issued soon,” he said during the Team 11 meeting here on Thursday.The whole process will take atleast 10-12 days. The MSME Minister Sidharthnath Singh said that we are going to float a global tender and whosoever wishes can apply for it. “It is 4 crore vials and we are open to any vaccine manufactured anywhere in the globe,” he said.
The vaccination of people over 18 years of age is starting on May 1. The registration process has started and there is apprehension that there is not enough vaccine available.”The Yogi government is trying to procure vaccines to meet our demand. We have got the support from the centre and after global tender I believe we will have enough vaccine,” he said.
