A dozen CRPF jawans were injured, including the driver seriously, when a van they were travelling in turned turtle at Chainpur village under the Dumari police station, Giridih on Friday around noon.
Police sources said that the accident occurred at Chainpur under Dumari police station area, when the van’s driver tried to avoid a goat, who came in front of the Van and suddenly the van overturned.
The names of the injured soldiers have not yet been revealed. After getting the information about the incident, Dumari SDPO Neeraj Singh and police of the Dumri police station reached the spot.
The police team sent the injured to the emergency ward to Dumri General Mina Hospital,6 km away, where the soldiers are being treated.
According to information, the condition of a jawan is said to be critical. While 11 jawans got minor injuries. The van was carrying 13 passengers. The driver and 11 others who were injured are all CRPF personnel.
According to the information, a van carrying CRPF personnel from Madhuban CRPF Camp was going to Nimiaghat. From where the jawans were to be taken for duty in the Bermo by-election. On the way to Nimiaghat, when a van full of CRPF personnel reached near Chanpur village of Dumri police station, a goat came to the front. In order to save the goat, the driver of the van suddenly applied the brakes. Due to which the vehicle became unbalanced and overturned.
