Admission to various colleges and universities for undergraduate and post graduate courses for the session 2020- 2023 and 2020- 2022 respectively will now be done through the Chancellor’s portal.  Higher, Technical Education and Skill Development Department has directed all the universities across Jharkhand to prepare for the admission procedure to the various courses through the portal this year.

“All the directives issued by the Department will be duly followed. It will prove to be very convenient for the students as through this portal they will be able to apply for a particular course to the various colleges. All preparations for the admission procedure have been done at our end. Presently, a mock portal has been made, so that colleges can try it out and in case of any problems or glitches, it can get rectified,” said Dr Kamini Kumar, Pro Vice Chancellor, Ranchi University.

The portal has been updated with all facilities required for admission and registration for all courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. The merit list will also be made and uploaded on the portal itself. The admission and registration fees will also be paid online through the portal.

Students when applying for a particular course will be able to list their college preferences instead of filling forms for each college individually. The applicants will also have an option of changing their preferred subject within a limited time period.

Registration of students which is done by each university will also be done through the portal. One of the biggest advantages of the portal will be of eliminating the errors and spelling mistakes commonly found when filling forms for various colleges manually.

For each college a trained nodal officer will be appointed who will also act as an in- charge of the helpdesk which will be set up for the convenience of the students and also answer all their queries related to the admission procedure.
