Unidentified miscreants allegedly torched an SUV after de-boarding the occupants on the Udit Nagar Sarna Chhak-Heked road under the Tangarpali police station in Sundargarh district.
The bike-borne miscreants also thrashed the occupants, including a woman, before setting the SUV on fire.
Sources said two youths and a woman were en-route to Rourkela from Lathikata area via Keked Road in the wee hours of the day. miscreants came on motorcycles and intercepted their SUV near Heked Road.They dragged the three out and thrashed them severly. The anti-socials later pulled out three sacks from the SUV, torched the vehicle and handed over the trio to police.
However, the contents of the sacks were not known. Police are investigating into the incident.
