The two days National webinar of Universities of the country on National Education Policy - 2020 (NEP-2020) was organized by South Asian Institute for Advanced Research and Development (SAIARD). In this, the Vice Chancellors of all the major universities of the country gave their views.
Vice Chancellor of MediCaps University indore Prof.Sunil K Somani, in his address on the New National Education Policy, said that after 34 years a new education policy has arrived in India. Earlier in 1986, the National Education Policy came out.
The Government of India started preparations to bring a new education policy from 2016 and now the New Education Policy has been approved.
Somani said that the new education policy also emphasizes that every child who completes the first stage of education up to 12th standard must have at least one skill so that he or she can get employment from it if needed.
The most prominent feature of this education policy is the multiple entry-exit system. For example, if a student completes only one year course by taking admission in graduation, he will be given a certificate for this.
At the same time, diploma will be given to those who complete two years and graduation degree will be awarded to those who complete three years.Apart from this, Somani also suggested to close fake universities, taking legal action against them by UGC.
In this seminar, the Registrar of Medicaps University and the Heads of all departments were present. On this occasion, Biswajit Roy Choudhury, Chairman, South Asian Institute for Advanced Research & Development , Ravindra Pathak (Chief Mentor, Council of World Youth Forum, SAIRD) from the Department of Mechanical, Medi-Caps University, expressed their gratitude.
