Smart road being constructed from polytechnic square to Bharat Mata square to connect old Bhopal to Smart City will be known as Sundarlal Patwa road, former Chief Minister of the state. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave these instructions in a meeting of Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation Limited held at Mantralaya. It is noted that today is the birthday of the former Chief Minister Late Patwa. He also gave instructions for the installation of Patwas statue.
Chouhan reviewed the progress concerning development works of the smart city projects to be completed in next 3 and 6 months. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Urban Administration Nitesh Vyas and other departmental officials were present at the meeting.
Chouhan said that in the implementation of all schemes for city development and beautification should not affect anyone's livelihood. All the kiosks or shops, which are required to be removed, should be moved to such places where they remain useful. People should not face any crisis in earning their livelihood. Chief Minister Chouhan said that cities will continue to
develop.
The population will increase. Therefore, schemes should be chalked out after assessing the need of new houses for poor as well as kiosks and shops at appropriate places for
poor.
Major projects of the Smart City Project should be completed on priority and the progress should be monitored continuously. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Bhopal, the Capital should be seen in a special appearance. In this regard, senior officials should consider and implement projects with innovation.
Chouhan directed that Swachhta Abhiyan should be launched in the entire state including Bhopal with the help of Municipal Corporation and other related departments, institutions and public cooperation. Mass public awareness about cleanliness should be generated. He said that Swachhta Abhiyan was also conducted earlier and the state had received awards for the campaign in the country. Indore is still excellent in cleanliness. Passion should be developed for cleanliness. Bhopal is the capital. Hence, there must be excellent level of cleanliness here.
The Chief Minister instructed to establish Rani Padmavati memorial and installation of her statue. The saga of Queens sacrifice should also be written on the memorial. The Chief Minister instructed to keep the master plan of all the cities of the state updated. He said that CCTVs installed at various places in Bhopal city should remain functional and roads should be free of potholes.
It was informed in the meeting that the smart city project of Bhopal is costing Rs 3440 crore. In the next three months, the New Market Road being constructed from Mata Mandir Square to Apex Bank Square will be completed at a cost of Rs 18 crore. Smart Park worth Rs 8 crore, Bouelevard Street costing Rs 45 crore and other projects will also be completed.
Government housing phase one worth Rs 187 crore, Mahalaxmi complex costing Rs 196 crore, Arch Bridge worth Rs 19 crore, Sadar Manzil conservation project costing Rs 15 crore will be completed in the next 6 months.
