RMRC: 50% city residents have developed antibodies

In a matter of relief amid the Covid-19 situation, around 50 per cent of the residents of the State capital city have developed antibodies for the virus, informed Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) Director Sanghamitra Pati at a Press conference here on Friday.

In the third serological survey conducted in the city between October 16 and 18, as many as 1,403 samples from 25 wards were collected randomly and tested, informed Dr Pati.

The survey revealed that nearly 50% of the city’s residents have developed antibodies after getting exposed to the virus, she said.

Dr Pati cautionedthat the rest of the residents are vulnerable to coronavirus and should adhere to precautionary measures like regular washing of hands, use of masks and social distancing.
