On October 22, three Bangladeshi sailors of ship named MV OCEAN CENTURY which is at Paradip anchorage were thrown into deep sea while working on board due to cyclonic weather conditions.
Getting information about the same from the Marine Department of Paradip Port Trust (PPT), speedboat JAVA of Sadhav Shipping Company which is deployed by PPT as a patrol boat, rushed to the spot and searched the area to locate the missing persons inspite of adverse weather condition. After searching for about one and a half hours, the sailors were finally located and rescued by Master Vikash Chandra Kalas and other staff of boat JAVA and brought ashore for medical treatment. Sadhav Shipping, acknowledging the heroic act of Vikash and others, awarded them with citation and cash in a small function recently.
