Raghubar demands quota for ‘Vaishya Samaj’

Sunday, 27 December 2020 | PNS | Ranchi

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and BJP national Vice President Raghubar Das today demanded reservation to the Vaishya society (Businessmen community) on the basis of population from the Government of Jharkhand. Addressing people during Vaishya Karyakarta Sammelan organized by Jharkhand Pradesh Vaishya Morcha Das said that the State government should give reservation to the Vaishya society on the basis of population by doing survey work in 6 months. “It is not a begging but a right. The Constitution has given us this right. This is our right and we will take it,” he said.

He said that Vaishya society has always worked for the betterment of the country and every section of the society. But, it has never made unreasonable demands. “The Constitution has given us reservation on the basis of population. Give it to us by the State government. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in its manifesto before the election had announced 27 per cent reservation for backward people within six months of forming the government, but even after one year, no action has been taken in this direction. By doing this, the government has cheated the backward people,” he said.

The former CM further said that with the slogans and the promises, the JMM-Congress alliance came to power, but due to lack of policy and intention, no work is being done. “Our government had written a letter to all the Deputy Commissioners from the Lok Sabha elections and gave the task of surveying the population of backward and we also promised in the BJP manifesto that within 6 months of formation of the government, the backward will be given reservation on the basis of population. Then the JMM Congress gained power by spreading lies, but now neither fulfilled the promise of giving 50 per cent reservation to women nor fulfilled the resolve to provide jobs to five lakh youths within a year on the martyrdom day of Shaheed Nirmal Mahato ji,” he said.

“It is also an insult to the sacrifice of martyrs. People will teach a lesson to those who do politics in the name of martyrs. “The government is far from a new job; at the time of our government, those who got jobs have also been cheated by the present government. The government is only making big announcements to get headlines in newspapers. They are not destined to work. The work of illegal coal sand, stone etc. has increased in the State, money is being played in the transfer postings. Naxalism, which was towards the end, has started spreading its legs again. This is a one-year achievement of the coalition government,” he said.

Das said that the Vaishya society has always placed the country at first place. “Right now the disruptive powers are very active in the country. Along with our demands, we also have to keep in mind that no disruptive power can succeed in breaking the country. There is a need to connect the country today. We do not have to let the country break in the name of the caste. It is also to work for the country, celebrating its demands. We are descendants of Danveer Bhamashah who worked for every section of the society. We have to work by following the path shown by our ancestors, keeping the country in the first place. He said that we all have to serve the country while remaining united,” he added.

In the program, Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth, Giridih MP Chandra Prakash Chaudhary, Hatia MLA Naveen Jaiswal, Former Minister Ramchandra Kesari, Jharkhand Pradesh Vaishya Morcha Central President Maheshwar Sahu, Virendra Kumar, Indu Bhushan Gupta, officers and workers of Vaishya Morcha from different districts of Jharkhand were present.
