Punjab Government, under its flagship programme Ghar Ghar Rozgar, is all set to launch Punjab Job Helpline.
Under this programme, the Department of Employment Gener-ation, Skill Development and Training would run a call centre to facilitate the state’s youth for employment services.
The call centre persons would address queries or calls in both Punjabi and English depending upon the comfort of the caller.
The state Employment Generation Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said that the 25-seat call centre would be established which would provide the services in all working days from Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm.
The Minister said that the job aspirants would be assisted in registration on pgrkam.com, profile updation, this would enable them to access the available vacancies across the country. The queries regarding their employment like available government schemes for skill development, self employment loans, etc would also be addressed through the helpline.
The job seekers would also be able to get information about various initiatives and services which are being run by the Department through active calling or messaging.
The Minster said that the employers would also be facilitated through this call centre, through which they could also call and register on pgrkam.com. They can place a demand for a workforce, after which the Department will arrange for candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria.
The state Employment Generation secretary Rahul Tewari said that the Department was already providing the services through a web-based portal www.pgrkam.com and now in the process of developing a mobile app.
In addition to this, the helpline would ensure that the candidates who do not have access to technology would be able to directly speak to a call operator and avail the services.
