Acting on a tip off, the Gomia police arrested a criminal of a gang at Hosir behind Hosir High school under Gomia police station area past midnight.
While making the arrest, the police confiscated one local made pistol, two live cartridges and mobile phones from the accused.The arrested was identified as Suraj Gope.
Gomia Officer in Charge Vinay Kumar said the arrested criminal was hatching a plan to commit robbery in Tenughat dam road with three other criminals.
Kumar said the team cordoned off the area near a Hosir high school in Hosir and conducted the raid after they were informed that some criminals have assembled near Hosir locality.
Four criminals, who were planning to commit robbery, but one member of the gang arrested, he said adding, the police have seized one country made psitol, two live cartridges and mobile phones from his possession. Three members of the gang who managed to flee from the spot, added Officer in-Charge
He said a case has been registered under applicable IPC and 25 (I-B)A/26/35 Arms Act against him.
