Plethora of events enthuse participants at BITOTSAV 2020

The second day of BITOTSAV 2020 remained as exciting and eventful as ever with a range of events lined up for the students participating in the annual fest of the premier technical institution of the State. 

The flagship event Mr. and Miss BITOTSAV, one of the most awaited flagship events took place in Shorbagh-1. The event was judged by Swastika Stuti from design Boutique, Ranchi Prof. Kshtija Vasudeva and Prof. Nazima Begum. The first stage of the competition required the participants to register their names and post their pictures along with an apt caption based on the theme of the cultural fest. Eight boys and girls each were selected on the basis of their submissions and the online reach of their post on social media.

 The event also witnessed the participants exhibiting their agile and graceful gait on the ramp.This was followed by the couple ramp walk round. The finalists were marked on the basis of their walk, posture, final pose, makeup, accessories, hair-do and most importantly their witty and prompt answers.

 The final session of the flagship event BIT MUN was today completed.

 It gave the participants a unique opportunity to embark upon a journey of comprehensive research on foreign policies of nations and the real world scenario about the topic of discussion in committee. A model of "Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC)", a prime committee at the UN General Assembly, was set up for the delegates to voice their opinion. Aman Mukherjee acted as the chair and Subhendu Karmakar acted as the Vice-chair. The participants were from colleges including NUSRL, Ranchi and St.Xaviers College, Ranchi.

Stomp the Yard The event ‘Stomp the Yard’ was a flagship event that was organized, in which the judging panel shortlisted the finalists on the basis of online video submissions.

The finals consisted of a 6-minute knockout battle where each of the two opposing teams, decided by impromptu lottery had to give alternating 60 second hip-hop performances. The participants were judged on the basis of sync, choreography, stage utilization, costumes, energy level, prop usage, stage coverage, innovation, presentation, and overall impact.

Aprt from the above a number of events including Rhapsody, Q-riosity, Natsamraat, Kalam-e-Tahir, Alfaaz, Humorously Yours, Masquerade, Tech Relay, Beat the Clock, Pitstop.

 The Journalist’s Hour, Digi Express, Psych, Horatio, Robo Air Hockey, HIGHWAY 69, Script Writing Workshop and Zumba Workshop were organised on the second day.

The EDM Night for the annual cultural festival of BIT Mesra, BITOTSAV’20, sponsored by Tribe Vibe, co-presented by Directorate of Culture, Dept. Of Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Jharkhand, powered by Fastrack, energized by Monster, with NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation) as the CSR partner and Radisson Blu as the Hospitality partner, was organized on 15th February, 2020 from 7:00 P.M. onwards.

The much awaited EDM night took place in the evening, which was graced by the presence of the Dean Students’ Welfare, Dr. Anand Kumar Sinha, the faculty coordinator of BITOTSAV’20, Dr. Kirti Avishek, the co-coordinator of BITOTSAV’20, Dr. Gautam Shandilya and other faculty members.

The Chief Guest for the evening was Industry Secretary Pravin Kumar Toppo.

 The opening performance for the night was by the local DJ Faizan. To pump up the spirits, next up was  Nina Suerte who is a DJ, model and one of the most famous lady DJs from Poland.

The crowd revelled to the electrifying beats of the DJ.

It was followed by the Italian DJ, Jean Marie, who is known for his exceptional performance on platforms like 'Space of Ibiza' and 'Ultra Music Festival'.
