Tension ran high at the Kamakhyanagar Sub-Divisional Hospital in Dhenkanal district on Friday over the death of a patient due to alleged medical negligence.
One Saroj Kumar Rout (42) of Kanapura village under the Kamakhyanagar police limits had been admitted to the hospital as he complained of illness. However, he died while undergoing treatment.Family members of the deceased alleged that an empty oxygen cylinder was used for his treatment which led to his death. They also created a ruckus over the incident.
Being informed, the Kamakhyanagar police station IIC reached the hospital to take stock of the situation. On the other hand, the hospital authorities said the matter would be probed.
