Odias across globe sing ‘Bande Utkala Janani’

At 5.30 pm on Saturday, Odias across the globe sang ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ considered as Odisha’s State Anthem, and stood united to express their gratitude to Covid-19 warriors.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who had appealed to the Odias all over the world, alongside his Private Secretary VK Pandian, sang the song at his residence Naveen Niwas.

Governor Prof Ganeshi  Lal along with his wife and other family members and officers and other staffs of Raj Bhavan recited the song at the Governor’s House.

Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Sarangi too sang ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ at their respective houses in New Delhi.

OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik, other senior Congress leaders including Suresh Routray, Panchanan Kanungo and Prasad Harichandan also attended the thanksgiving programme organised at the Congress Bhawan here.

BJP State president Samir Mohanty, other senior party leaders including Sajjan Sharma also sang the song at the BJP headquarters here.

The Police Seva Bhawan here organised the event with police band playing the patriotic music. Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhansu Sarangi and other officials participated in it. In Cuttack, DGP Abhay attended the solidarity event along with hundreds of other police personnel.

Sportspersons and celebrities sang the song at the Kalinga Stadium here. Employees at the Rail Sadan, BDA office, Lok Seva Bhawan, and other offices came out of the office and recited the song.

People were seen standing along Janpath, Sishu Bhawan Square, Vani Vihar Square, Chandrasekharpur Square and other busy places in State capital city and reciting the song.

Odias living in the UK, the US, Singapore, UAE, South Africa, Canada, Australia, Germany and other countries also sang the song.
