Following a steep fall in the online admission in colleges of the Nilamber Pitamber University officials have given a 10 day extension for the online admission. Registrar of the NP University Jayant Shekhar said for regular courses online admission the last date is now September 21 while for self-financing courses it is September 25. All online admission is on the Chancellor Portal.
Sources said this academic session 2020-2021 the number of the online admission is quite impressive but compared to the last year admission when there was offline and online admissions the number was 23,000 while this time there is a total curb on the offline admission the number of the online admission is already past 18,000.
Shekhar said the university believes with the 10 day extension there will be a shoot up in the online admission. Shekhar said the University has not enhanced any fee of the self-financing courses since 2018 and in this pandemic, students seeking online admission in the
self-financing courses will not find any hole in their budget.
Professor in-charge of the Y S N Mahila college Mohini Gupta said it is 8,500 fee for self-financing course bachelor of computer application in her women's college.
Mohini Gupta said last year her college had 1,700 plus admissions but so far online admission this year is above 1,200. She is hopeful of a jump in the online admission in this extended phase.
The Registrar said State universities have with them the login and so the universities are within their parameter to extend dates for the Chancellor Portal.
Sources said students in rural areas find it hard to do online admission. Sources said cyber cafes are taking just a notional amount from those students who are incapable of handling the same themselves. Shekhar had a word of praise for the A K Singh College Japla which has efficiently managed the online admission in this college.
