For those hesitant to relish a plate of panipuri amid the coronavirus scare, ‘Chatori’ a chaat counter in Nucleus Mall is offering amla, aloe vera and giloy flavoured golgappe which will not only satiate one’s taste buds but will work as immunity boosters.
Foodies can opt to add a zing to their chaat with these flavour enhancers at no extra cost. Offering a range of 11 varieties of chaat to choose from like papdi chaar, raj kachori and aloo tikki, the price ranges from Rs 59 to Rs 99. The regular golgappe is priced at Rs 59 for a plate of eight while the ones drizzled with chocolate sauce cost Rs 99.
“Chaat is something which is enjoyed across all age groups and unlike other cuisines like Chinese, it is made from natural ingredients like hing, saunth which is made out of dried ginger and tamarind paste, mint and turmeric which are all homemade spices and are very healthy. Since the outbreak of the virus everyone has been taking precautions to boost their immunity. It was then that the idea of adding amla, giloy and aloe vera to chaat struck me,” said Ranjeet Kumar, the owner of Chatori.
Kumar has placed bottles of three juices at his counter with the tagline ‘Chaat khao, immunity badhao’ to attract customers.
“People do come forward to try one of the new flavours especially amla which is gradually gaining popularity. The foot fall is certainly not the same as compared to what it used to be in the pre covid times. There is some rush on weekends especially the Duga Puja attracts a lot of customers but on weekdays the crowd is much less. Hopefully in the coming days business will pick up,” he remarked.
In the upcoming wedding season, Kumar plans to introduce this product at functions and parties along with the regular flavours. “I have received some bookings for the months of November and December for weddings and functions where along with pudina and meetha pani, I will also be offering the alma and giloy flavoured ones,” added Kumar.
