Modi inaugurates 1.75 lakh houses for poor

While inaugurating the ‘Grah Pravesham’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave possession of 1.75 lakh houses to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Today, the whole country became witness of the fabulous execution of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana through online house warming programme.

The Prime Minister said that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been given a vibrant form by avoiding unnecessary Government interference. He further said that the joy of festivals will be more for the beneficiaries of the scheme this year. I myself would have come in person to join such a great moment of jubilation in your life, but corona compelled me to stay back. Prime Minister Modi interacted with Gulab Singh Adivasi of Dhar district, Pyarelal Yadav of Singrauli district and Narendra Namdev of Gwalior. 

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, who attended the event through video conference from Morena, welcomed Prime Minister Modi. Governor of Madhya Pradesh Anandiben Patel, Union Minister  for Panchayat and Rural Development Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development of Madhya Pradesh Mahendra Singh Sisodiya, Union Minister of State for Rural Development Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Rajya Sabha Member Jyotiraditya Scindia were also attended the virtual programme. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi also talked with affinity with the beneficiaries of Madhya Pradesh. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains also attended the programme through VC from Mantralaya, Bhopal. Additional Chief Secretary Panchaya and Rural Development Manoj Shrivastava conducted the programme.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Prime Minister Modi, who has taken the country to new heights is welcome. Every poor has dream of having their own house. Thirty seven lakh people of Madhya Pradesh who did not have the eligibility slips, will now get food grains. Chief Minister Chouhan mentioned that  the ‘Grah Pravesham’ programme is being celebrated in 26,548 villages of 16,440 Gram Panchayats. One crore 24 lakh 92 thousand 394 people did pre-registration to connect themselves with this programme, which is a symbol of people’s excitement towards the scheme. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh will not lag behind in fulfilling the resolution ‘Every individual should have their own pucca house’ of the Prime Minister by the 75th Independence anniversary of the country.

Prime Minister Modi started conversation in local dialect with Gulab Singh Adivasi of Dhar district. He praised the beneficiary Gulab Singh for constructing a good house. When Prime Minister inquired about his health, he said that he is not keeping good health since the last few days. So my son will talk on my behalf. Meru, the son of Gulab Singh, told that he has constructed a house with Halma tradition, prevalent in the region. Under this, the people of the village work together to build houses and the person whose house is being built, he feeds everyone. Praising this tradition, Prime Minister Modi said that this is an amazing example of government initiative and social cooperation. It uses the skills of all the people of the village. This is a practical way to simplify life.

The government is also working on this method to fulfill the dreams of the poor. Prime Minister Modi praised the painting made at Gulab Singh's residence. Gulab Singh said that it is Mandna, which is made to decorate house in this region.
