The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) would soon form a relief fund to help the State Government fight the coronavirus (COVID-19). A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held by the SJTA Finance Committee here on Monday.
The fund would be named “Shree Jagannath Relief Fund”. Devotees from across the globe would be appealed to donate money to help the State Government combat the deadly virus. The collected money would be transferred to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).
Notably, the Shreemandir has remained closed for devotees since March 20 as a precautionary measure to prevent spread of the coronavirus. But servitors are performing daily rituals of the Trinity in the temple premises.
