In Kendrapada: Cured corona patient’s family ostracized

Sunday, 05 July 2020 | PNS | KENDRAPADA

A case has come to the fore in Kendrapada district in which a cured corona patient’s family has been ostracised by fellow villagers. Life has become a hell for the family members at Baidimala village under Chandiagadi GP of Aul block since last five days. The fellow villagers, being panicked that they would be infected with the virus, have barred the family to draw water from village tube-well and forced the village grocery shopkeeper not to deliver commodities to it. Even, the family members are restricted from going to their relatives’ house at the same village.

When contacted, district Collector Samarth Verma said the matter has come to his notice and he has already directed the local BDO to look into it and take stern action against the villagers who are responsible for the concerned family’s plight.
