Fire tenders to be used for sanitisation

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday flagged off fire tenders for 66 tehsils of the state to be utilised for sanitisation.
Flagging off the fire tenders from his 5, Kalidas Marg official residence, Yogi said that of the 350 tehsils of the state, half of them had no fire tenders.
“In the last three years, fire tenders were deployed at most of the tehsils in a phased manner and as of now, only 130 tehsils are remain without fire tenders. The remaining tehsils will also be provided fire fighting shortly,” he said.
The chief minister said at a time when the whole world was fighting against coronavirus, these state-of-art fire tenders would help in sanitisation and in ensuring cleanliness.
After consultation with the director general of police and additional chief secretary, (home), it was decided that these vehicle could be used for sanitising every village in these  tehsils.
On the occasion, the chief minister thanked the Fire department personnel for taking the task forward in a time-bound manner.
Meanwhile, DG (Fire Services) Raj Kumar Vishwakarma said that there were 890 fire tenders in the field and now 61 had been added on Wednesday.
He said that these vehicles would be used by district magistrate/district police chief/ municipal commissioners for spraying sodium hypochlorite which releases chlorine and kills all viruses in the air and also prevents the growth of virus for a long time.
Vishwakarma said that the state government had sanctioned Rs 30 crore for Fire Services department out of which Rs 20 core would be used for purchasing 95 new vehicles.
“The rest of the fund would be used for purchasing hydraulic combi tools, thermal imaging cameras, hand control high pressure branch, breathing apparatus, chemical suits and pneumatic air lifting system,” he said.
