Garhwa police lodged FIR against two migrant workers of coronavirus infected under Epidemics Diseases Act.
Both youth tested positive for coronavirus on May 28 after they returned from Mumbai. Both were shifted at government quarantine center, Garhwa after taking sample . Later both managed to evade the authorities. Both were found their parental home at Sonourwa Mohalla of the Garhwa town.
"An FIR has been lodged against them under Indian Penal Code, section 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life)," PS in-charge Ramod Kumar Singh said. On the other hand, the Health Department is preparing to take a sample of 21 people who are suspected to have come in contact with them.
Civil Surgeon N K Rajak said, "Blood samples of 21 people are being taken on the basis of suspicion of coming in contact with them"
Deputy Commissioner, Garhwa Harsh Mangla on Monday said that there is no need to panic with Covid-19 as patients are recovering rapidly amidst the growing coronovirus case in the district .
He confirmed that 48 patients have recovered from the disease and they have been discharged from Kovid-19 hospital, Meral.
Mangla also confirmed two new Covid-19 positive cases in the district on Thursday .
With this, the total number touched 57 out of which 48 have been discharged after recovering from the disease till Friday. Mangla said it was a matter of relief that fourty eight patients have tested negative after treatment.
“So far 39,057 migrant labourers have returned to the district and have been quarantined,” he said .About the two new patients, he said they belonged to Garhwa town.
Both patients were sent to the quetentine center after screening but they went home.
“But we will send swab samples of their relatives for testing to ensure that they are not infected,” he said. As many as 48 out of the total 57 patients in the district have now gone home healthy. Only 9 patients are undergoing treatment in the Covid-19 hospital.
