Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the top priority of his government was to extend all help to farmers so that they could sell their produce at remunerative prices.
Chairing a high level meeting at his official residence in Lucknow on Friday, the chief minister said, “The present government is committed to providing competitive prices for farm produce and it will ensure that people get essential commodities at reasonable prices.”
Yogi said that the government had set up purchase centres for paddy and corn and had directed officials to ensure that no farmer sold his produce at less than the minimum support price (MSP).
“The middlemen should not exploit farmers and in case of any complaint, the official concerned should be taken to task,” he said.
The chief minister directed the agriculture production commissioner (APC) to take action against hoarders so that people could get pulses, food grains and other commodities at cheap rates.
