Despite Covid-19 triggered recession and lack of demand for new vehicles, “0001” registration number of “CH01-CB” series fetched a highest bidding price of Rs 5.45 lakh against a reserve price of only Rs 50000 in an e-auction of fancy numbers held by Registering and Licensing Authority, Chandigarh.
Virgo Laminates Limited made the highest bid of Rs 5.45 lakh for the “CH01CB0001” in the e-auction, said an RLA official. The number “CH01CB0007” received the second highest bid of Rs 2.89 lakh against the reserve price of only Rs 30,000, he said.
Among other fancy numbers receiving higher bids against the received price of Rs 30,000 included “CH01CB0008” which was e-auctioned for Rs 2.23 lakh, “CH01CB0009” went for Rs 2.2 lakh and “CH01CB0003” for Rs 2.09 lakh. The RLA had held an e-auction of fancy numbers of new series, CH01-CB, from July 14 to 16.
Only those who have purchased vehicles at a Chandigarh address were allowed to participate in the e-auction after submitting the sale letter and other details.
Under the e-auction process, the vehicle owners have to deposit a registration fee for participating in the e-auction and the reserve amount for the special/choice registration numbers at the office of the Registering and Licensing Authority in Sector-17 here through demand draft .
