The fear of recurrence of Covid 19 seems to have put Ganjam administration on an overdrive. The doctors and health scientists in Brahmapur apprehend that the second phase of the Covid 19 may infect a substantial chunk of population.
This is quite evident from the fact that, the number of patients in local MKCG Medical College and Hospital is now increasing every day, causing a worry for the district administration for about a week. There is some sign of the recurrence of the deadly virus in the district which cannot be ruled out, feel the experts.
Keeping the ongoing rise in number of patients and possibility of recurrence of the virus in mind, BeMC Commissioner has reportedly been instructed to take adequate preventive measures. According to information available, the district administration has reportedly started its preparation to re-impose certain restrictions and guidelines, not necessarily the lockdown or shutdown, to contain the spread of Corona infection, sources said.
This has become evident from the Ganjam Collector’s recent review meeting through video conferencing with three Sub-Collectors and senior officials of the district in which district Collector Vijaya Amrut Kulange has cautioned all the officials to remain alert and to lay preventive measures at place.
Meanwhile, it has been decided to conduct swab testing of each person from November 1. In addition to this, a plethora of other measures such as, cycle rally, Zoom meeting, awareness on 5T rules, sensitizing public through social networking platforms like Tweeter, distribution of kits to those in home-isolation and contract tracing will also be widened.
