A staff of the Jagannath Temple Police (JTP), Sudharshan Sahoo. was suspended on Monday when a video of his urinating in the premises of Gundicha Temple here had gone viral on social media platforms.
But Sahoo was reinstated within a few hours after the disciplinary action by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). This has raised many eyebrows.
Notably, entry of devotees into the Gundicha Temple, where Lord Jagannath and His siblings stay during their nine-day-long sojourn, is completely prohibited due to Covid restrictions enforced by the district administration.
During the period, the video featuring the policeman urinating near a wall in the premises of the shrine drew severe flak from various quarters.
