Saturday, 31 October 2020 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

The Congress government has done away with many pro-poor life changing schemes of the erstwhile BJP government, and the people of Marwahi will give a befitting lesson to the ruling party in the by-election, former Chief Minister Raman Singh said on Friday.

The incidents of crime against women and girls are also increasing and no action is being taken, the BJP leader told the media. All these are being watched by the people.

He said free medical facilities to the poor up to Rs 50,000, construction of 5 lakh houses and marriage assistance to girls from poor families are among the scheme that have been affected, he said.

Raman Singh said the funding for the housing scheme has been stopped by the Central government after the state government did not pay its share, he said.

The rate of sand which was available at Rs 10,000 is now sold at Rs 30,000. Why? This is what the people of Marwahi are asking, he said.

The BJP government of 15 years and 22 months of Congress cannot be compared as the foundation of development was laid during the BJP rule, he went on.

No work has been undertaken since the formation of the new government, he said. People know what has been done and what has been undone.
