The ruling alliance as well as the Opposition is reaching out to voters through social media in the two by elections Dumka and Bermo.
Due to corona pandemic and its restriction making physical distancing norms necessary, all three parties BJP, Congress and JMM have set up dedicated social media team to reach out to voters. While the Congress and JMM are highlighting the work carried out by Hemant Soren government in its ten month tenure, the BJP is listing out Government’s failures.
State Congress working president and party spokesperson, Rajesh Thakur said, “We are reaching out to people highlighting the work carried out by Hemant Soren government in last ten months. Government schemes of waiving farmers loan to other government schemes are some of the key agendas we are listing out.”
Thakur added apart from this as Congress is fighting from Bermo seat, we are also projecting the work carried out by late Rajendra Prasad Singh who had represented the seat for six times.
The Congress leader claimed that late Rajendra Prasad Singh was one of tallest trade union leader of coal belt, who had represented workers retrenchment to privatization of coal mines. The Congress though social media is also highlighting the work carried out by late Singh as MLA.
In Bermo the Congress has put up late Rajendra Singh’s son Jaimangal Singh against BJP’s Yogeshwar Mahto Batul.
Rajendra Prasad Singh who son the seat for first time in 1985 has represented the seat for six times.
Countering Congress, the BJP is using the social media to reach out to masses
highlighting the Modi government schemes apart from comparing the developmental work of Congress and BJP Government.
State BJP spokesperson, Pratul Shahdeo said, “Though social media we are comparing the five years of Raghubar Das government to 10 months of Hemant Soren Government. The Soren Government in just 10 months has stopped several welfare schemes initiated by Raghubar Das government. Suspending schemes of registry of land and property of women at token Rs 1 to farmers schemes among others.”
Shahdeo said apart from these through social media, the BJP is also highlighting how law and order situation in State has gone for a toss during Hemant Soren government.
“Atrocities against women especially rape and murder cases have gone up. In most of the cases the victims are tribals,” added Shahdeo.
The JMM too is using social media to reach out to masses highlighting the struggle made by JMM chief Shibu Soren in creation of separate state Jharkhand.
All three parties have set up dedicated social media team who are working day and night reaching out to people through virtual rallies addressed by leaders of all three parties. Both JMM and Congress are also reaching out to people through facebook live, whatsapp, twitter and other social media handles.
The by election for Dumka and Bermo will be held on November 3 while counting of votes and results will be declared on November 10.
