CM to honour sportspersons on Dec 28

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will felicitate sportspersons, coaches and sports personalities with State- level sports award for the year 2019 on December 28, for their outstanding performance in sports. Chouhan will give away state level Vikram, Eklavya, Vishwamitra and Life Time Achievement awards at the sports award ceremony.

The programme will be presided over by the Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, Yashodhara Raje Scindia. Padmashri, Arjuna and Dronacharya Awardee Olympian shooter Jaspal Rana will be the special guest. Olympian hockey player Inam-ur-Rehman of Bhopal is being awarded the Life Time Achievement Award for the year 2019. This award was started in the year 2002. The Life Time Achievement Award is given to a sports person who has contributed throughout the life for the development and promotion of sports in the state. The ceremony will take place at Minto Hall at 6:30 pm.

In the individual sports (games played in Olympics, Asian Games and National Games) Ajatshatru Sharma of Bhind has been selected for Eklavya award for canoeing-kayaking, Aditya Dubey of Dewas for soft tennis, Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar of Khargone for shooting, Gargi Singh Parihar of Bhopal for Karate, Anshita Pandey of Jabalpur for Wushu, Indore’s Param Padam Birthare for Swimming, Bhopal’s Shankar Pandey for Fencing, Ujjain’s Akshat Joshi for Horse Riding, Anusha Kutumbale of Indore for Table-Tennis, Priyanshu Rajawat of Dhar for Badminton and Govind Bairagi of Rajgarh for sailing.

In group games, (games played in Olympics, Asian Games and National Games), Shivangani Verma of Tikamgarh for Softball and Gwalior’s Ishika Chaudhary for hockey have been selected for the award and in traditional sports (games not played in Olympics, Asian Games and National Games), Indore’s Nityata Jain for chess has been selected for Eklavya Award.

In Individual Games (Games played in Olympics, Asian Games and National Games), those selected for Vikram award for the year 2019 include Rajeshwari Kushram of Bhopal has been selected for Vikram Award for Canoeing-Kayaking, Faraz Khan of Bhopal for Horse Riding, Advait Pagae of Indore for Swimming, Muskan Kirar of Jabalpur for Archery, Shri Jai Meena of Dewas for Soft Tennis and Chinki Yadav of Bhopal for Shooting.

In the group games (Games played in Olympics, Asian Games and National Games), among those selected for award include Pooja Parkhe of Indore for Softball and Karishma Yadav of Gwalior for Hockey. In the disabled category (Games played in Olympics, Asian Games and National Games), Janki Bai for Judo and Chandrakant Harde of Bhopal for Throw-Ball in Traditional Games (Games not played in Olympic Asian Games and National Games).

In Individual games (games played in Olympics, Asian Games and National Games), Abhilash M.T. of Indore for Swimming,  Girdhari Lal Yadav of  Bhopal for sailing have been selected for Vishwamitra Award and in Group games, (games played in Olympics, Asian Games and National Games) Sharad Jape of Indore for Kho-Kho.
