CM launches e-meeting software

Tuesday, 25 August 2020 | PNS | Dehradun

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the e-meeting software- a smart meeting management system at the secretariat here on Monday.

This system will be used to hold meetings in the chief minister’s office and the secretariat in a better manner using information technology. Officials slated to participate in a meeting will send the agenda and proposed discussion points to days before the meeting for the CM’s approval and the meeting will be held only after the approval is received.

Speaking on the occasion, Rawat said that the state is moving ahead according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s idea of digital India.  After e-cabinet and e-office, the state has now launched e-meeting which will further speed up the pace of work.

To ensure that the last intended beneficiary receives the benefit of government schemes, it is important to adopt modern technology. Through monitoring and tracking, focus should be laid on making working more efficient, productive and time bound which will also enhance transparency.

Stating the secretariat is considered the heart of the government, the CM said that tracking of files here will ensure that people get benefit of government schemes soon.

Chief secretary Om Prakash said that this is a good effort towards e-governance. E-meeting will enable paperless work and easy access to decisions taken in past meetings. The system should be adopted for the meetings of ministers and the chief secretary also, he said.
