On the occasion of national energy conservation day, the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat presented project allotment letters to 11 entrepreneurs of Uttarkashi district under the CM solar self employment scheme on Monday. He also felicitated women self help group members who had completed training under LED Gram light scheme and presented certificates to Pradhans of energy efficient villages on the occasion. Rawat also announced a revolving fund of Rs 50,000 for women self help groups involved in making LED lights.
Speaking on the occasion, Rawat said that the next focus of the State government is to remove the burden of fodder and firewood from the heads of women. Stating that work is being done to achieve this, he also asked the officials concerned to prepare schemes for this purpose. Addressing Gram Pradhans and members of self help groups present through video conferencing, he asked them to provide their suggestions in this regard too. The CM said that growth centres are making an important contribution towards self employment, adding that there is considerable scope for growth centres in the sphere of readymade garments. Focus should also be laid on preparing school uniforms and dresses for doctors and nurses, he said.
The CM also conversed with students of all the districts on the subject of energy conservation. He also released a calander displaying winning art works made by students in a competition.
MLA Ganesh Joshi, secretary Radhika Jha and UREDA director Alok Shekhar Tiwari were also among those present on the occasion.
