ASMNI seeks financial aid for scribes

Thursday, 30 April 2020 | PNS | BRAHMAPUR

The Association of Small and Medium Newspapers of India (ASMNI), Odisha Unit has submitted a memorandum  to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday  requesting him to declare special financial package for the working journalists in the State.

Association president Rabi Rath said that unlike doctors and police personnel, the working journalists too are part of Corona war and working for 24 hours giving first priority to the profession rather than their own family members ignoring threat to their life.

While appreciating the announcement of Rs 15 lakh ex-gratia in case of death of a journalist covering the pandemic by the CM, Rath demanded that the CM should make some compensatory allowance per month basis to each working journalist.
