Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the restructuring of the Board of Steel Authority of India Ltd. Consequently four posts of the Chief Executive Officers of ISP of SAIL are abolished and to be elevated as Functional Directors, by designating them as Directors-in-charge of Bokaro, Rourkela, Bhilai and one Director-in-charge jointly for Burnpur and Durgapur steel plants.
Thus Board level appointments consequent to restructuring of SAIL board, PESB recommended Amarendu Prakash for the post of Director (Raw Materials and Logistics) as Director In-charge of Bokaro Steel Plant as a onetime exception for a period of 5years from the date of assumption of charge until further orders. Also Anirban Dasgupta the incumbent Director (Projects & business Planning) as Director Incharge of Bhilai Steel Plant as one time exception for the period until completion of his initial terms of 5 years until further orders, Appointment of Harinand Rai incumbent Director (Technical) as Director (Technical ,Projects & Raw materials) as one time exception until further orders.
The director of Bokaro Steel Plant Amarendu Prakash is a B-Tech from BIT-Sindri in Metrology. In July 1992, he joined BSL as MTT. He has worked in a hot strip mill and PPC department in BSL. He was transferred to the chairman’s office in April 2016.
