Embarrassed by the deaths of six elephants in 11 days, Chhattisgarh's Forest Department on Friday shunted out the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Wildlife), Atul Kumar Shukla, and transferred the Divisional Forest Officers of Balrampur and Dharamjaigarh.

Chhattisgarh has reported six elephant deaths -- two in Surajpur, one at Balrampur, a calf at Dhamtari and two elephants at Dharamjaigarh.

An order issued by the Joint Secretary (Forest), Bhoskar Vilas Sandeepan, Shukla (IFS, 1986), posted at Aranya Bhawan, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, has been made PCCF (State Research, Training and Climate Change) and Director, Chhattisgarh State Forest Research and Training Institute, Raipur.

P.V. Narsingh Rao (IFS, 1987), presently PCCF State Research, Training and Climate Change and Director, Chhattisgarh State Forest Research and Training Institute, Raipur, has been posted as PCCF (Wildlife), the post Shukla held.

Rajesh Kumar Chandele (IFS, 2003), the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Koriya Forest Division, Baikuntpur, has been posted as Deputy Forest Conservator, Office of PCCF, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.

Manivasagan. S (IFS, 2009) DFO, Keshkal Divisional Forest, has been made DFO, Dharamjaigarh Forest division, Dharamjaigarh.

Imotemsu A.O. (IFS, 2010) Director, Guru Ghasidas National Sanctuary, Baikuntpur, has been posted as DFO Koriya Forest Division, Baikuntpur.

Priyanka Pandey (IFS, 2012), DFO Dharamjaigarh Forest Division, Dharamjaigarh, has been recalled as Deputy Forest Conservator, Office of PCCF, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.

Pranay Mishra (IFS, 2013), DFO Balrampur, Balrampur Forest Division, has been shifted as Deputy Forest Conservator, Office of PCCF, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.

Ganveer Dhammshil Sampat (IFS, 2013), Deputy Secretary, Chhattisgarh Forest Department (Secretariat) on deputation, has been posted as DFO Keshkal, Keshkal Forest Division, after withdrawing the deputation.

Laxman Singh (SAS), Deputy Manager, Office of Chief Conservator of Forest, Sarguja Circle, Ambikapur, has been posted as officiating DFO, Balrampur Forest Division, Balrampur.
