Police claim to have busted a gang of robbers, who were involved in looting of a petrol pump in Giridih, while two gang members are still at large. Police arrested the accused from Simutalla area in Chakai on Saturday afternoon following a tip-off, said SP of Giridih, Amit Renu.
The accused have been identified as Deepak Kumar Paswan, Vikash Kumar Turi, Dipak Paswan and Vikash Paswan.
Police have also recovered one country made psitol, one cartridge, one mobile phone looted from petrol pump staff. Two other mobile phones used in loot were also recovered, besides one Mauti Van (JH-15T- 4816 ) from their possession.
Giridih Superintendent of Police Amit Renu claimed that the accused were hatching a conspiracy to loot a Maa Durga Kisan Sewa petrol pump at Chitrokura. The SP stated that the accused were involved in several criminal activities, including attempt to loot and snatchings.
The robbery took place on October 21 during which four youths snatched a bag containing several thousand rupees from one Soamitra Kumar Samant, a petrol pump employee here.
During a press conference, SP Amit Renu said, “The CCTV footage was of great help in tracing the accused. The accused persons belong to Chakai in Jamui district in Bihar”
