The Covid-19 positive cases continued to surge in State capital city Bhubaneswar with 317 positives being reported on Sunday. With this, the city’s total positive count rose to 20, 855, including 3576 active cases.Out of the new cases, 255 were local contacts and 62 from quarantine.The local contacts included 17 cases from Unit-9, 12 cases each from Sailashreevihar and Unit-8, 11 cases from Saheed Nagar, 10 cases from Chandrasekharpur, nine cases each from Baramunda and Nayapalli, eight cases each from Unit-2 and Patia, six cases from IRC Village, five cases from Chakeisiani, four cases each from Satyanagar, Unit-3, Jagamara, Garage Chhack , Forest Park area, Old Town , Old Station Bazaar, Jayadev Vihar and Rasulgarh.The quarantine cases included seven cases from Shailashree Vihar, four cases from Unit-8, three cases each from VSS Nagar and Unit-8 and BJB Nagar.
Meanwhile, two more patients succumbed to the virus in the city. The deceased were a 42-year -man and a 58-year-old man. With this, the city’s death toll rose to 86.However, 312 patients recovered on the day, taking the total recoveries to 17,176, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
