The Covid-19 death toll surpassed the 1,300-mark and reached 1,308 after 11 more patients died in eight districts of the State on Friday. While Khordha district registered three deaths, two more succumbed to the virus in Cuttack. One each died in Angul, Ganjam, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, Nuapada and Rayagada districts.
The deceased in Khordha were a 40-year-old woman, a 66-year-old man (both of Bhubaneswar) and a 59-year-old man.
The deaths in Cuttack were of a 54-year-old women and a 67-year-old woman.
The other deceased were a 55-year-old man of Angul, a 62-year-old man of Ganjam, a 68-year-old man of Jharsuguda, a 42-year-old man of Kandhamal, a 45-year-old man of Nuapada and a 61-year-old woman of Rayagada. Meanwhile, the State recorded 1,547 new positive cases on the day from all 30 districts and the State pool, pushing the total case count to 2,88,646.
Of the fresh cases, while 891 persons were from quarantine, 656 were local contact cases.Khordha recorded the day’s highest 159 cases followed by Cuttack 98, Angul 95, Jagatsinghpur 89, Mayurbhanj 88, Baleswar and Balangir 79 each, Keonjhar 71, Jaipur 70, Kendrapada 61, Nuapada and Puri 59 each, Sundargarh 58, Bhadrak 43, Dhenkanal 40, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi and Koraput 37 each, Bargarh 35, Nayagarh 34, Nabarangpur 30, Ganjam and Kandhamal 24 each, Sambalpur 23, Subarnapur 22, Deogarh and Malkangiri 17 each, Boudh 12, Rayagada nine and Gajapati eight.
Besides, 33 cases were reported from the State pool.However, another 1,800 patients recovered on the day taking the total recoveries to 2,73,838 in the State.
