Eleven people succumbed to the Covid-19 and 1650 fresh cases were reported on Friday in Haryana, the State health bulletin stated. Out of 11, four fatalities were reported in Hisar, three in Gurugram, two in Panchkula, one each in Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar.
The death toll in the State has reached 1,777 and the tally of people tested positive stands at 1,65,467. As many as 1179 people recovered on Friday, taking the number of those cured to 1,51,839 and the number of active Covid-19 cases stands at 11,851.
As per the bulletin, the cases doubling rate further rose to 51 days while recovery rate at 91.76, fatality rate at 1.07 per cent and positive rate at 6.29 per cent. Gurugram reported 399 new cases, Faridabad 270, Hisar 195, Rohtak 106, Sirsa 92, Rewari 84, Sonepat 69, Mahendergarh 68, Jhajjar 57, Karnal 55 and Panchkula 46.
433 FRESH COVID-19 CASES IN PUNJAB, 19 DEATHS
Nineteen more fatalities linked to COVID-19 in Punjab pushed the death toll from the disease to 4,187 while 433 new cases raised the infection tally to 1,33,158 on Friday, according to a medical bulletin.
Two deaths each were reported from Ferozepur, Barnala, Bathinda, Ludhiana, SBS Nagar and Patiala and one each from Amritsar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Pathankot and Rupnagar, the bulletin said. The state has 4,101 active COVID-19 cases, according to the bulletin.
The places which reported fresh coronavirus cases included Jalandhar (65), Ludhiana (65) and Mohali (49), it said. A total of 577 patients were discharged after recovering from the infection, taking the COVID-19 recovery count to 1,24,870 in the state. A total of 25,82,787 samples have been collected for COVID-19 testing in Punjab, it said.
NO COVID DEATH IN CHANDIGARH, 65 FRESH CASES
No COVID-19 related fatality was reported in Chandigarh during the past 24 hours as 65 fresh positive cases surfaced on Friday.
“The death toll stood at 225 and the total case tally reached 14351 in the city,” stated Chandigarh Health Department’s evening bulletin.
The COVID-19 mortality rate was recorded at 1.56 percent in the city. Earlier, it was on October 19 this month when no COVID-19 fatality was reported in the city. A day before, the union territory had reported one COVID-19 related death and 80 fresh positive cases.
According to the bulletin, “There were 657 active cases till the evening. 67 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries to 13469.
The recovery rate was recorded at 93.8 percent while the active ratio of cases was recorded at 4.5 percent which means for every 100 confirmed cases, four are currently infected in the city.” So far, 106,090 samples have been tested in the city.
