‘Gandagi Bharat Chhodo-Madhya Pradesh’ campaign launched

Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh, along with dedicating the state-of-the-art Integrated Solid Waste Management Unit at Maswasi Grunt in Sagar on Sunday, launched Gandagi Bharat Chhodo-Madhya Pradesh” campaign.

The cost of this unit is Rs 70.54 crore. The most important thing is that the first animal carcass plant of the state has also been set up here, where carcasses of cattle will be disposed of scientifically. Gandagi Bharat Chhodo-Madhya Pradesh” campaign will be conducted from August 16 to 30.

Singh directed the officers to provide employment to local people in the plant. He said that the people of the village should not have any problem while transporting waste. Singh said that such plants are operated in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Katni, but this plant of Sagar is equipped with state-of-the art machines. Including Sagar Municipal Corporation, waste from 10 urban bodies of the district, Khurai, Makronia, Rahatgarh, Bina, Deori, Banda, Gadhakota, Rehli, Shahpur and Shahgarh will be disposed in the plant and organic manure will be prepared. The plant will play an important role in preventing infectious diseases and freeing the ocean of waste.

Singh said that cleanliness is necessary for health and prosperity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have worked continuously in this direction to make the country and the state dirt-free. The result of this is that Indore and Bhopal city of Madhya Pradesh have secured the first and second place among the cleanest cities of the country. He said that no heaps of garbage will be seen in the cities of Madhya Pradesh in the next three years. Garbage in cities is a major problem. We have to take this up as a challenge.

The Minister Singh said that the Government in Madhya Pradesh has done a good job for control and prevention of Corona. As a result, today Madhya Pradesh is at the 15th position. Chief Minister Chouhan reviews Corona control every day. He has reviewed Corona for more than 600 hours in various sessions so far. Corona is being treated free of cost in the State. He said that good work has been done in Sagar for control of Corona.

Singh informed that free masks have been distributed to 5 lakh people under the Ek Mask-Anek Zindagi campaign launched in the state for prevention from Corona. He said that under the Gandagi Bharat Chhodo-Madhya Pradesh” campaign to be launched from August 16 to 30, urban bodies will be ranked and the bodies doing good work will be awarded by the Chief Minister. Minister Shri Singh said that there will be no shortage of funds in the development of Sagar and Makronia will be included in smart city.

Sagar MP Raj Bahadur said that Sagar district will remain free of garbage. Regional MLA Shri Pradeep Laria said that only 35 percent waste management is done in the country. Waste causes 22 types of diseases. He expressed happiness over the work done to make Sagar garbage free. Sagar MLA Shailendra Jain said that it is a matter of pride for Sagar that a solid management unit is being started here. He said that the possibility of generating electricity from waste should also be considered.

Commissioner Urban Administration and Development Nikunj Shrivastav informed about the the Gandagi Bharat Chhodo-Madhya Pradesh” campaign to be launched from August 16 to 30. Public representatives, Collector  Deepak Singh and other officers were present in the programme.
