On a day when BJP led central Government was busy drum beating their achievements in office during the first year of rule, the Pakistan Army resorted to 'unprovoked' ceasefire violations using heavy calibre guns along the line of control in Poonch on Saturday.
Two different incidents of ceasefire violations were reported from Qasba, Kirni and Khari Karmara sectors of Poonch. The Indian Army gave befitting reply to the Pakistan Army in both the sectors.
Till the time of filing the report, big guns were roaring in Khari Karmara sector and the thunderous noise of shells were audible even in Poonch town.
Defence PRO in Jammu, Lt Col Devender Anand said, “Pakistan army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation around 10.00 a.m in Qasba, Kirni sectors of Poonch using small arms firing and mortar shells. Later in the evening, Pak army resorted to intense mortar shelling in Khari Karama sector around 7.45 p.m. He added, Indian army was giving befitting reply.
