Two WB labourers electrocuted in Balangir

Two labourers were electrocuted to death at Jarasinga village under Deogaon block in Balangir district on Friday. The deceased were identified as Dilbar Hussain and Ganga Hussain.

Both were residents of West Bengal. The incident occurred after the duo came in contact with a live electric wire while working in a rural drinking water project at Jarasinga.In another incident, in Sundargarh district, a farmer was electrocuted in his farmland near Sangogua village under Bonail police station on Friday. 

The deceased was identified as Shyamaghana Sahu. Sources said Rout’s ox came in contact with a live electric wire on the farmland. He tried to rescue the animal but both died of electrocution.

Tension ran high in the area following his death as angry locals ransacked the Bonai Sub-Station holding the officials responsible for the mishap.Later, police force was deployed to control the volatile situation. The locals have demanded compensation for family members of the deceased.
