Two persons were killed while 12 others were injured when a rashly driven Multi Utility Vehicle (MUV) turned turtle near under Dudhawa police outpost limits on Sunday, police said.
“The victims (all residents of Balod) were on way back to home from Dudhawa Dam in a pick-up vehicle and had reached near Dudhawa turning when the accident happened,” Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kanker Kirtan Rathore said.
The victims were identified as Kausal Rawte (52) and Bisambhar Tihari (50) both residents of Tetari village in Balod district, police said.
The pick-up vehicle was over loaded and around 30 people were sitting on the MUV, police said.
Returning back from Dudhawa Dam they had reached Dudhawa turning under Narhapur police station limits when the driver lost control and it turned turtle, the ASP informed.
Injured persons were taken to District hospital Kanker and police have registered a case in this connection.
